Quoted by Billboard magazine as "one of the most exciting bands playing in NYC", Bloo has brought their high energy show to stages across the United States. From universities and festivals, to some of the most highly acclaimed music venues, Bloo has been playing hard since 1995.

Bloo is a five piece, original rock & roll outfit. There are several songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists, so the range of sounds, styles, and songs are musically diverse--but all of the compositions are unmistakably Bloo. Having recorded and released three independent records, the band has been growing and expanding steadily, keeping a rock solid musical foundation.

Through hard work and perseverance, Bloo has won first place honors in major competitions. The group won the MasterCard American Collegiate Talent Search in 1997, a national contest which dubbed the band "Best Student Act in America." On the heels of that victory, Bloo won NYC's Guinness Fleadh Band Search, which landed them a spot at the Guinness Fleadh on a bill that included the likes of Sinead O'Connor and Van Morrison. Their jaw-dropping performance took the thousands in attendance by storm. Bloo's debut album "The Geology of Planet Weird", was among the top two in cd sales at the Fleadh, selling out. Directly following that victory, the band took first place in a Long Island band search sponsored by WBAB, earning them regular airplay on the station, which reaches over a million people.

Bloo followed the contest victories with a successful showcase for the National Association of Campus Activities, held in Nashville in February 1998. The performance, held in front of over 2000 college representatives from across the country, helped Bloo independently fund a national tour in support of their second record "Land Mimes." While touring, Bloo got a chance to perform in front of a vast array of crowds and sell thousands of records, thanks to bookings with such acts as Govn't Mule, Guster, David Crosby, Merl Saunders, and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor.

Upon their homecoming to New York, the group recorded a live cd, which was released in November of 2000. Still touring, the band is honing their skills as musicians and living as a family in their RV. Papa Bloo and the crew continue to take care of the managerial duties at the office in Bay Shore, NY. The five performers, the sound engineer, and the road crew continue to be dedicated, following their dreams on a road that will undoubtedly Blooisize many people along the way!
